Garden City, Michigan

The cupthat carriesa thousand years of coffee.

Organic Yemeni beans, slow hospitality, and a fusion of Middle Eastern tradition with the rhythm of a neighborhood cafe—open late when the city wants one more cup.

Why Finjan

Finjan Cafe opened on Ford Road in Garden City as a deliberate step west of Dearborn—a place to share Yemeni coffee culture with neighbors who already love coffee, and with newcomers curious about something different in the cup.

The beans come from Yemen’s highlands: older trees, mountain air, and a terroir that has quietly shaped some of the world’s most storied coffee. Here, those flavors meet cardamom, saffron, cream, and the small rituals of a calm, welcoming room.

“If I see a familiar face, that means the person liked it—enjoyed what they drank and what they had.”— Fares Abdulmalek, owner (Hometown Life, 2021)

  • Something about finjan coffee is just so much better than most other coffees. This cafe did not disappoint. I had ordered the finjan latte and Nutella croissant. The croissant was rather large.

  • A nice coffee shop off of busy Ford. It is nice to find a tranquil spot in this busy commercial area.
